KENYATAAN AKHBAR
Kenyataan rasmi berkenaan gangguan perkhidmatan Celcom di seluruh negara pulih secara berperingkat-peringkat mulai jam 9.00 malam, 24 September 2009.

Merujuk kepada perkara di atas, Celcom (Malaysia) Berhad ingin memaklumkan bahawa para pelanggan Celcom di seluruh negara telah mengalami gangguan perkhidmatan menerima dan membuat panggilan sesama pelanggan di dalam rangkaian Celcom.
Walau bagaimanapun, perkhidmatan-perkhidmatan lain seperti sms, emel, GPRS, jalur lebar mudah alih, perayauan, IDD dan panggilan ke rangkaian lain dan rangkaian tetap tidak terjejas.
Gangguan ini diakibatkan jumlah panggilan yang lebih tinggi iaitu 5 kali ganda semasa musim perayaan. Beberapa node pertukaran rangkaian mengalami kesesakan panggilan yang teruk dan mengakibatkannya kehilangan signal.
Kejadian ini disebabkan kedua-dua node pertukaran yang terletak di Kepong dan Perda, Seberang Prai mengalami kesesakan panggilan dan terganggu secara serentak.
Perkhidmatan telah mula pulih secara berperingkat-peringkat mulai jam 9.00 malam 24 September 2009, dan para pelanggan Celcom akan dapat menikmati semula perkhidmatan tanpa gangguan dalam sedikit masa lagi. Kami memohon maaf di atas segala kesulitan yang dialami oleh semua pelanggan akibat gangguan perkhidmatan tersebut.

Official statement in regards to service interruption for Celcom, service have been gradually restored nationwide by 9.00pm, 24 September 2009

With reference to the above, Celcom (Malaysia) Berhad would like to acknowledge that its’ customers nationwide had been experiencing some service interruptions in receiving and making calls within our network.
However, other services such as sms, email, GPRS, mobile broadband, roaming, IDD and calls to other networks and fixed line were not affected.
The failure was mainly due to heavy call volume which increased by 5 folds during the festive period. As a result, some of our major network nodes experienced a sudden overloading, causing a loss of signal between the nodes.
It is really unfortunate that these nodes, located at two different locations namely Kepong and Perda, Seberang Prai were both affected at the same time.
As of 9.00pm 24 September 2009, service is being gradually restored nationwide and Celcom customers can now enjoy uninterrupted service once again. We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience that this has caused to all our customers.
